Samaroh: The Great Indian Carnival

Samaroh: The Great Indian Carnival

📅 2017 Saturday 18 March 2017 📍 Sandringham Road Reserve, Auckland (Auckland Arts Festival)

Samaroh — The Great Indian Carnival was an immersive, interactive experience where the bustling streets of Mumbai were recreated in Sandringham Reserve, bringing to life a festival of simmering tales, live music, characters, interactive tasks and Holi activities.

In this market, have your fortune read, eat and drink with actors, get chased by Bollywood villains, help reunite lost family members, partake in sidewalk karaoke, help solve a crime and so much more. This one night only event included a Mela performance of traditional street folk theatre and music by the Prayas band.

Part of the Auckland Arts Festival Whānui programme.
