Nona Shedde

Nona Shedde joined Prayas in 2012, drawn in after attending the company’s production of Kingdom of Cards (Tasher Desh) — a show that reignited a long-held passion for theatre.

Since then, Nona has become Prayas’s financial anchor, managing the organisation’s accounts, funding applications, and financial planning as Treasurer. Her contributions extend well beyond the books: she produced Dhaba on Devon Avenue, executive-produced the 20th anniversary celebration Pitārā, and served as Funding & Financial Advisor for The Clay Cart. She has also performed in both seasons of Rudali, YĀTRĀ, A Fine Balance (First Season), First World Problems, Dara, Swabhoomi: Borrowed Earth, Thali and last appearing in the ensemble for Pitārā and co-directing the Rudali segment with Ahi Karunaharan.

Nona’s ability to balance the creative and administrative demands of community theatre has been critical to Prayas’s sustainability over the past decade.
