Prayas Theatre is a registered charitable organisation committed to the highest standards of governance, financial accountability, and public transparency. As stewards of public trust and community resources, we publish our governing documents, policies, and financial accounts openly.
Structure
How We're Governed
Prayas Theatre Incorporated is governed by an elected Executive Committee, accountable to our membership and the public. The committee is elected annually at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and operates in accordance with our Constitution and the Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
Our committee members are volunteers who give their time to advance South Asian performing arts in Aotearoa. All major decisions — including financial commitments, programming, and partnerships — are made collectively by the committee.
As a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005, Prayas files annual returns with Charities Services and undergoes independent audits of our financial accounts.

Constitution of Prayas Theatre Incorporated
The constitution sets out the purpose, rules, and governance structure of Prayas Theatre Inc. It was approved at a Special General Meeting in February 2025 and operates under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
