Porvi became a part of the Prayas family in 2016 as a stage manager for Prayas’ first out and out comedy “Love n Stuff” directed by Sanada Chatterjee. The year after she did her first ever Prayas show as an actor in Ahi Karunahan’s “Swabhoomi”, followed by “First world problems” in 2018, in which she also wrote her own piece. She was the assistant stage manager for “Dara” by Prayas and has also worked with ATEED (Auckland Tourism, Event & Economic Development) as part of the stage crew on multiple events around Auckland like the Auckland Diwali festival and the Auckland Lantern festival.
After getting a taste of different aspects of theater and events, Porvi feels she works best as a stage manager. She says, although it is job that can often feel thankless and can be incredibly frustrating but when the production has so many moving parts and communities small & large come together to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. That is a special experience.
